Just a short post from my trip with Grandad to Georgetown for Matthew's 2006 baseball banquet. We drove down Sat morning and got there about 12:30. We attended the alumni game (see picture with Matthew, Matthew and I) and saw all his friends. Banquet was nice (as alwys) and I think Grandad really enjoyed. I am sure the baseball coach thinks Matthew is from a split family since something has kept Kathy from being able to go for all 3 years. She is not happy about it and says that she is going next year no matter what.

It's me again. I can't remember if this is the right way to do this or not, but I'll try anyway. Life has been pretty busy at the Finchers with everyday things. Jeremiah went to Lubbock to visit cousins John and Lindy and just to check out Tech again before he joins the college ranks next year. Aunt Mickey and Uncle Bodie were there also. Thankfully, Mickey was feeling good and has had more "good" days. John ran in a cross country meet and did very well. He placed 8th (I think - according to JD's report) with a good time and he was the third of the TT runners. Both Annagrace and Jeremiah are at Super Bowl parties with friends so Mike and I are having a party of our own with good guacamole and King Crab legs! School for me has been a little discouraging with several heartbreaking home situations for my kids. But after having a couple of conferences with parents I am seeing some improvement. Mike turned the big 50 and we're planning a trip to the US Open tennis tournament in NY over Labor Day. Good Times! Not much else is happening except we're looking towards going to Houston for Mickey's surgery and praying for improved health for her. I love looking at what's going on with Elias and I hope more of the fam will start "Blogging?" soon. Love, Patty
